Lassi is a popular and traditional yogurt-based drink which is popular in India and the blend of Mango to it makes it so adorable. This creamy, smooth drink is for sure a heavenly and a refreshing drink on a hot summer or a tiring day.This Scrumptious drink is prepared by blending luscious ripe mango pieces along with yogurt, milk, sugar and lil cardamom powder. The measurement varies according to one’s taste. You may also top it with Vanilla Ice Cream and Tiny Mango Pieces.

Avocado Smoothie
Such a refreshing, filling, healthy and a yummy drink packed with lot of nutrients. A definite yes for Iftar!!
Ingredients:-
- Avocado Sliced- ½
- Milk -3/4 cup
- Vanilla Essence – 1/2 tsp (optional)
- Sugar – 1 big tablespoon or more as required
Method:-
- Spoon out avocado pulp and place in blender.
- Add fresh milk and sweet into the blender and blend it.
- Enjoy the creamy and rich Avocado Smoothie.
Note : For enhanced taste, you may add some honey and vanilla ice cream.
Apple Guava Shake
I had this drink at a friend’s place after a tired day at work and found it very refreshing. Found from her mom that it was a mixture of Apple and Guava. Wow!! both are easily available fruits and hence tried it out for Iftar immediately at my place ….wow!! what a healthy drink after a day’s fast…Here is the recipe : Just blend a ripe guava with apple slices and enough sugar and water to get this absolutely refreshing drink!!
Badam Milk – A refreshing drink
It’s such a healthy drink for growing kids and gives lot of benefits to their brain power, immunity etc. Another benefit of badam milk is that it definitely doesn’t taste like plain milk cos it has it’s own unique flavor: light, nutty, crisp. So if your kids hate the way milk tastes, this drink is an healthy alternative. This drink will for sure increase the level of health in your kid’s diet. So try it out ladies….
Ingredients
- 2 cups milk
- 10 Almonds
- Few strands of kesar
- 2 tbsp sugar (more if u want)
Method
- Soak the almonds in hot water for 10 mts, blanch them peel and grind into a paste along with lil milk.
- Soak kesar in 1tbsp warm milk for 10-15 minutes
- Bring milk to boil
- Add soaked kesar, sugar and almonds
- Let it simmer on slow flame for a min
- Stir well.
- Serve hot or cold.

Avocado Smoothie
Avocado smoothie is a real treat for a hot summery day! Well, it’s still a real treat for me in winter too. Avocado Juice will attract everyone who consumes it cos of its apparent taste and creaminess. I always serve this for my guests and no one has ever disliked it. Adding a scoop of vanilla ice-cream make it more creamy, but without it itself it tastes like ice cream.
The secret lies in the use of sugar and milk and the quantity of this fruit. Unfortunately, I don’t have the exact measurement for my perfect Avocado shake as I always don’t go by measurements. Here I have given the approx measurement. You can alter as per your preference. I prefer my shake to be little thick and creamy and if you make this shake watery; the real taste of this shake will be lost. The important point to know while making this is that the fruit should be very ripe otherwise it will taste bitter. So dont make this with those hard ones and complain that it was the worst juice you ever had
. I usually wrap it in a newspaper for 2-3 days to make it ripe if i get only those hard avocados in the supermarket.

Sharbat e Rooh Afza
Rooh Afza has a great cooling property and hence is traditionally made in preparation for breaking the fast during Ramadan. It’s most commonly used to make a refreshing drink. And alternate preparation – Add to lemonade for a refreshing treat. Rooh Afza can also be had with water for those who are lactose intolerant.
Ingredients
- 1 cup cashews, pistachios and almonds, finely crushed
- 1 tsp cardamom seeds
- 1/2 litre whole milk
- 1 cup superfine sugar, to taste
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Rooh Afza, to taste
Method:
In a mortar and pestle, grind the cardamom seeds. Crush all the nuts and gather about 1 tsp.
Dissolve the Rooh Afza syrup and superfine sugar in the milk. Taste. If you like your drink a little more sweet, add more Rooh Afza and superfine sugar.
Mix the nuts, cardamom powder, vanilla extract in the sweet milk.
Refrigerate & serve.
Musk Melon Shake
Ideal drink for Summer…but all would love to indulge in this drink in any season….This drink reduces heat in the body to a great extent and relieves tiredness..Regular consumption of muskmelon juice can help to treat lack of appetite, acidity, ulcer and urinary tract infections…And being sweet in taste Musk Melon can satisfy our dessert needs too..
Ingredients:-
- Half Ripe Musk Melon
- Sugar – 1 big tablespoon
- Required water
Method :
Remove the seeds and peel the skin from Musk Melon. Cut them in cubes. Blend it with water and sugar until smooth. Water and sugar can be adjusted till a sweet taste is achieved and in a way that the consistency is little thick. If you make it watery, the real taste is lost… You may add milk instead of water but i like it with water.

Papaya Smoothie – A healthy drink..
This drink is an energy booster as Honey, Milk and Papaya are used. We know the benefits of Honey and Milk and the Papaya is known for its digestive enzyme papain. This proteolytic enzyme aides digestion because it breaks down complex proteins. Papaya is also a rich source of vitamin A, vitamin C, potassium and fibre. So get indulged in this healthy drink…
Ingredients:-
- Ripe papaya pulp (the papaya is ripe when skin is soft and smells fruity)) – 1 cup
- Honey – 3 tbsp
- Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
- Cold Milk – 1 small glass
Method :
Remove the seeds and peel from the papaya. Cut the papaya in cubes. Combine the papaya, honey and milk and blend until smooth. Bring the papaya smoothie to taste with the lemon juice. Pour the papaya smoothie in long glasses and serve with a bit of ice. You may top it with some whipped cream or Vanilla ice cream and serve immediately.
